Role: Children's Support Worker

Location: Preston

Pay: £15 - £20ph

Hours:

  • Flexible Hours - shorter and longer shifts
  • Day (12 hour shift) / Waking Night (12 hour shift)
  • Long day sleeps (8am to 11pm sleep in)

About the role

We are currently looking to recruit passionate and caring children's support workers to work with our lovely young people. This is ina variety of settings including the family home, crisi provisions and hopsitals. These roles will be working with children and young people with a range of different challenges. This can include emotional behavioural issues, mental health issues or learning difficulties. You will be required to have at least 1 year of UK experience working in a similar role. These positions are on a 2:1 basis.

Duties include:

  • You will be required to ensure that our children and young people are provided with the highest quality of care and to assist them reaching their full potential.
  • To ensure children's safety and well-being is appropriately protected at all times.
  • To promote education, independent living and maintain a healthy home environment.
  • To provide detailed written notes for each shift.
  • To professionally liaise with professionals.
  • Uphold essential safeguarding.
  • To effectively communicate with the service user and professionals.

The young people involved in these placements can have a range of needs, including:

  • Challenging & aggressive behaviour
  • Learning disability
  • Autistic Spectrum Condition
  • ADHD
  • Personality Disorder
  • Self-Injury
  • Mental health diagnosis
  • Victims of the range of abuses
  • Inappropriate behaviours

Criteria for these roles are:

  • Child and Adult DBS - on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Previous Experience in a similar role (1 year UK experience).
  • References covering the last 3 years
  • Willingness to travel to different areas.
