East Cambridgeshire District Council have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager (Development Control) to join the team.

Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire.

Salary: Up to 68,386 per annum; includes Market Supplement of £7000 annually, an essential car user allowance of £1,239 annually and 17.2% employer pension contribution.

Job Type/Hours: Full time, Permanent.

Planning Manager (Development Control) – The role:

We're in search of a leader who can skilfully manage the challenges posed by rapid housing and commercial growth, adapt to evolving government policies, and align with our corporate objectives.

This role requires someone with a strong commitment to our values, along with the ability to oversee conversation enforcement and technical support services, ensuring adherence to procedures and timely delivery.

Leading a dedicated team, you'll bring strategic insight, customer-centricity, and effective operational management to the table. This position is pivotal as we embark on a journey to modernise our services, prioritising digital-first approaches and enhancing efficiency while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.

Planning Manager (Development Control) – Key Responsibilities:

- Lead a team in strategically navigating rapid housing and commercial growth

- Ensure adherence to government policies and corporate objectives

- Manage conversation enforcement and technical support services

- Embracing digital -transformation for a more customer focussed and efficient approach

Planning Manager (Development Control) – You:

- Degree or equivalent in Town and Country Planning or a related field is essential

- Full RTPI Membership

- Good working knowledge of planning processes and regulation

- Individual with ambition and drive to shape the planning department

- Capable of reading and interpreting plan and technical or legal documents,

- Excellent digital skills

- Can lead through example
