Planning Assistant / Planner - Renewable Energy
£30,000 - £45,000pa

Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a leading renewable energy developer in their hire of an ambitious and passionate Assistant Planner OR Town Planner to their busy Bristol based team. The successful candidate will aid in the development of large-scale solar and battery storage projects across the UK, Canada, the USA, and Europe!
We are seeking applications from candidates who have a passion for renewable energy. This position is ideal for someone who already has some planning experience and is looking to develop their planning skills and build a career in the renewable energy sector.
Other duties of the role will include:
- Help coordinating solar and energy storage planning applications.
- Liaise, appoint, and review outputs of external planning and environmental consultants.
- Coordinating site visits with key stakeholders.
- Reviewing planning reports and drawings prior to submission.
- Helping organise and participate in community consultation events.
- Carry out high-level planning reviews of new solar and energy storage sites.
Candidate Requirements:
- RTPI accredited degree or equivalent qualification.
- An interest in working towards chartered status with the RTPI.
- Relevant experience either public or private sector (ideally 1+ years)
- An excellent standard of written and verbal communication skills.
