PHP Software Engineer

Contract length - 12 months FTC

Start date - ASAP (must be within a 2 week notice)

Location - mostly remote in England. Berkshire office day 1 to collect equipment

The client is a fast growing SaaS business. As a PHP Developer you will develop, maintain, and provide production support to existing systems. This role requires extensive PHP and Symfony knowledge as well as the ability to work independently within an established codebase.

PHP Software Engineer - Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain internal systems
• Deliver work through the full SDLC in an agile environment
• Investigate and resolve production defects and issues
• Maintain and modernise legacy applications
• Write automated unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities

PHP Software Engineer - Requirements

• 5+ years' commercial experience with PHP 8+ development
• Symfony commercial experience
• RESTful API development and integration
• Strong HTML, CSS3, and JavaScript skills
• Strong SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar)
• Linux, Git, Docker
• Automated unit and integration testing
• AWS experience (or similar cloud package)
• Strong object-orientated programming, SOLID principles, scalable code practices
• Strong problem solver
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
