PHP Developer
Birmingham (Hybrid, 2 days per week) | Up to £50,000
Looking to work on a major platform transformation using modern PHP technologies? This is an opportunity to join a growing development team building and enhancing business-critical internal applications within a collaborative engineering environment.
The Company
An established financial services business investing heavily in its technology estate. They are replacing third-party software with scalable in-house platforms and are growing their engineering capabilities across development, data and QA.
The Role
You will:
- Develop and enhance applications using PHP and Laravel
- Contribute to a greenfield internal platform
- Build and integrate APIs
- Work closely with SQL Developers and QA Engineers
- Write clean, secure and maintainable code
- Participate in testing, code reviews and releases
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial PHP and Laravel experience
- JavaScript knowledge
- API integration experience
- Experience with relational databases
- Understanding of testing and software quality practices
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Nice to have:
- Vue.js or Inertia.js
- CI/CD or DevOps exposure
- Docker experience
