We are looking for a developer to help design and deliver the company’s products. The position offers all the benefits that come from both working with exciting products and techniques and developing products that help people use public transport better.
We have been in existence for over 10 years, and we are growing! We are well respected for our personal, friendly and honest approach, and have recently become part of the R2P group who share our passion for this sort of data and service.
The product takes bus tracking data, accessibility needs information, media content and all sorts of journey or service related data (some dynamic and some fixed) and makes it available to the public, service managers and service planners in a useful way. This needs embedded products, server and PHP skills and many other aspects.
Not only is the work interesting, but the company encourages initiative and skills development as part of the job. We like people to develop an enthusiasm for the product and encourage independence of thought and self-determination. We very much like people to take responsibility for key areas of the product.
We need a Developer, ideally front and back end to take forward our core Real Time Tracking and Passenger Information Application.
The candidate should have:
a) Ability to take a server infrastructure, establish feeds to and from it, set up applications on it and get systems working from it.
b) PHP and MySQL, Linux and bash scripting.
c) Knowledge of Elastic, Kibana.
d) Report writing in the above technologies
e) Development of dashboards, management screens and user systems using the above.
Beneficial skills would be:
a) Knowledge of Laravel or another MVC framework/VMS
b) Experience in tracking applications
