Due to retirement we are looking for a highly motivated individual to manage the pet department within the Garden Centre.
This person will be responsible for the day to day duties that ensure the smooth operation of the pets and aquatic centre.
The Manager will be involved with a variety of tasks including hiring new staff, providing training and development, merchandising, inventory control, ensuring high standards for pet care/welfare and ensuring excellent customer service by providing exceptional pet and product knowledge and creating a great shopping experience.
This department is a high performance centre and the manager must be confident in maintaining stock levels, placing orders within budget, and making sure store sales goals are met, or exceeded.
The Manager must also ensure that all animals in their store (including fish, reptiles, birds, and small mammals) are treated humanely and in accordance with local regulations and animal care guidelines. Delivering the highest standards of pet care and ensure that the welfare of pets is a top priority and promoting responsible pet ownership.
It may, on occasion, be necessary to work long hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Managers must also be on call in the event that any emergencies arise that involve the animals, staff, or the store itself.
Baytree Garden Centre is a large independent garden centre, with the pet department being one of the best performing departments. This role is challenging but rewarding to the right candidate
Salary dependent upon experience. Training will be offered and the time given to work alongside the current manager to ensure a smooth hand over.
