We are currently recruiting for pet carer roles to support a trial for our client based at the world's leading pet nutrition centre in Waltham on the Wolds, Leicestershire.
For the trial you would be require to observe dogs, remove and collect samples of faeces. This work plays a crucial role within our trials and provides a great starting point for those wanting to pursue a career within animal nutrition, husbandry, training or research.
Whilst this will only be a short trial we do have further roles available from January 2018 so for applicants successful on this trial there will be further opportunities.
This trial involves working either 15:00- 03:00 shifts or 03:00-15:00 shifts and dates of work will include 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 20th and 21st December. For some of these shifts you would also be required to be on standby where you may be required to work to cover absences and/or provide additional resource requirements.
Interviews to be held on Wednesday 25th October 2017.
Medicals for successful applicants to be held on Wednesday 1st or Thursday 2nd November 2017
Training for successful applicants will begin on Monday 20th November 2017 and is for 2 weeks 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday. Applicants must be available for training if successful at interview stage.
*Observe dogs both during the day and at night
*Providing faeces collection and sampling
*Recording information and following guidelines
*Providing animal husbandry as required
*Cleaning and tidying of animal pens and work areas
*Basic literacy skills and the ability to follow instructions and guidelines
*Previous experience of working with dogs is advantageous
*Passion for working with animals
*The ability to work in a team
*The ability to work 12 hour shifts including nights and maintain a high standard of alertness
*Flexibility to work standbys and additional shifts as required
*Own car is essential due to location
*Successful applicants will need to undergo security checks and undertake a medical that includes a drug test
