Exciting Opportunity for PE Teaching Assistant!

A vibrant primary school in South Sheffield is seeking a dedicated PE Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team, covering a maternity leave from EYFS to Year 6.

About the Role:

  • Position: PE Teaching Assistant
  • Year Groups: You will work with all year groups, from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Year 6, assisting in planning and delivering engaging PE lessons.
  • Responsibilities: You will support the PE curriculum, helping to plan and deliver lessons that promote physical activity and healthy living. Additionally, you may be asked to lead groups of children during activities.
  • Experience: Ideally, you will have experience as a sports coach, Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), or cover supervisor, with a passion for working with children across different age groups.
  • Aspiring PE Teacher: This role presents an ideal opportunity for an aspiring PE teacher to gain valuable experience and insight into the field, preparing you for future career progression.

Requirements:

  • Passion: Demonstrate enthusiasm for physical education and a commitment to promoting health and well-being among students.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children in a sports coaching or teaching assistant capacity is desirable.
  • Flexibility: Be adaptable and willing to work with children of varying ages and abilities, fostering a positive learning environment for all.
  • Qualifications: While not essential, qualifications related to sports coaching or teaching support (e.g., HLTA status) would be advantageous.

Details:

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
  • Term: Fixed-term contract for at least 6 months (potentially longer) covering a maternity leave, providing stability and continuity for both staff and students.
