Alexander Daniels are working with a leading business based in Coventry who are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Manager on a full time basis. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the payroll function for the business ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time as well as leading a team of payroll administrators.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day to day management of the activities of the Payroll Administrators and the allocation of responsibility among the team ensuring a fair split of the workload.
  • Responsible and accountable for operating and maintaining effective and accurate employee records for all employee data.
  • Accurately process weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Review and balance payrolls before and after they have been processed. Validate confirmed reports and gain appropriate approvals.
  • Calculate all statutory payments / deductions.
  • Prepare and review payroll reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, year-end).
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to queries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC submissions and all legislative deadlines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with HR, finance, auditors, and external stakeholders.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience managing a team of payroll administrators.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, statutory deductions, and HMRC reporting).
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Experience with Payroll Management Systems and Excel.
  • Confident communicator and leader.
