Permanent, Part Time (24 hours per week, Tuesday - Friday). We will also consider more hours (up to 35 hours per week) for the right candidate.

Role:

An exciting opportunity to lead, develop and support the Group’s Payroll Function, providing the full range of payroll services to all parts of the organisation.

  • Manage and develop the payroll service, as part of a Group Shared Services function, ensuring it meets organisational and colleague expectations and all statutory and regulatory compliance responsibilities.
  • Deliver services in line with standards agreed with JRHT and JRF.
  • To be the organisational owner of the HR/Payroll system and data within this. This includes maintaining and upgrading all HR systems.
  • Drive forward continuous improvement including:
    • Ensuring potential legislation changes are understood and preparations are made for implementation.
    • Simplification of processing
    • Colleague self-serve.

Experience & Skills

Skills:

  • Working autonomously, able to problem solve and demonstrate operational and strategic skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, including advanced formulas and data manipulation within Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to persuade and influence people at all levels.
  • Strong problem solving and delivery skills; able to work with senior leaders to analyse the issues, develop solutions and implement them.
  • Experience of leading a team through change and a track record of enabling a high performing team.
  • Account management: demonstrable skills of developing positive and productive relationships with external partners so that they are well equipped to work in tandem to achieve JRF/JRHT’s requirements.
  • Project management skills: able to lead payroll projects and demonstrate benefits.

Experience:

  • Breadth and depth of experience of working as a Payroll Manager in a range of organisations.
  • CIPP or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential
