Our client, a forward thinking, independent firm of Chartered Accountants are seeking an experienced Payroll Assistant to join their team in Eastleigh on a part-time basis, around 15-20 hours a week.

Assisting the Payroll Supervisor, you will be dealing with all payroll matters for a mixed portfolio of clients and duties will include:-

  • Calculating payrolls within various frequencies.
  • Setting up new employees and issue P45s to leavers.
  • Comply with HMRC RTI regulations and process P60s at the end of the tax year PAYE.
  • Entering beneficiary details and salary payments for enhanced service payrolls, including international payments
  • Pay HMRC PAYE liabilities for enhanced payrolls
  • Set up and calculate statutory payments
  • Liaise with clients and providing them with payroll reports and informing them of PAYE liabilities
  • Set up and calculate various pension schemes
  • Check and pay employee expenses
  • Calculating flexi-furlough payments
  • Completing daily timesheets accurately
  • Other ad-hoc duties when required.

You will ideally have a payroll qualification such as CIPP or working towards this, although QBE will be considered. You will also possess a good working knowledge of payroll processes, including PAYE, internet banking and auto-enrolment pension schemes, preferably with experience of working for another firm of chartered accountants or payroll bureau.
