Paralegal / Legal Assistant
Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting for a Paralegal/Legal Assistant on behalf of our client, a successful firm of Solicitors based in Chesham, Bucks.
The role is to provide legal assistance and administrative support to the Commercial Property Fee Earners and others as required.
The ideal candidate will have at least one years' experience of working in a Commercial Property team.(Essential) and have experience in handling the administrative side of commercial property transactions
Duties to include:
• Dealing with clients and other people calling at the office
• Progressing cases as requested by the fee earner
• Dealing with compliance matters (AML searches, etc.)
• Making appointments and attending clients
• Dealing with post completion matters and dealing with Land Registry
• General Paralegal tasks in relation to individual file management:
• Word processing and sending and receiving e-mails, filing, photocopying
• Linking incoming post to appropriate case files
• Liaising with court staff and other third parties as required
• Reception cover, as required
Essential Requirements:
- Audio typing – 60+ words per minute
- Good knowledge of the commercial property processes
- Good understanding of commercial property terminolog
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- High standard of English grammar and spelling
- Excellent attention to detail
- General administration/office skills
- Strong verbalcommunication skills
- A friendly and approachable nature with an enthusiastic approach to the job
- Ability to deal sensitively with clients
- Confident meeting with clients and speaking to clients and other third parties
- Diary management
- Knowledge of forms/layouts used in legal documentation
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Monday to Friday role
Salary: £25,000 pa to £35,000 pa + Benefits
