AskJules are recruiting on behalf of our client, a 26-year-old professional, who is looking for the last person to join his care team. Make a positive impact on his life while enjoying a fulfilling and rewarding role as a Personal Assistant.

Start: ASAP

Hours: Approx 24 hours p/w (Flexibility required)

Location: Stamford (PE9)

Pay: £11.11 p/h

Holidays: 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata

A Full UK Driving licence is required for this position as you will be required to drive the client’s adapted van. Due to the nature of the client’s work, you may be expected to travel abroad with the client from time to time.

About our Client

An inspiring individual who, after sustaining a C4/5 Complete Spinal Cord Injury during a school rugby tour in 2015, has navigated life with resilience and determination. Now 27, he is pursuing a career in acting and continues to go from strength to strength.

He uses a powered wheelchair for mobility and is looking for an organised, individual to assist him with daily living. He has a great sense of humour and is not afraid to "say it, how it is." The client is very close to his parents and siblings who have always been supportive throughout his life. The client stays at his family home and you will be provided with an ensuite room for when there is downtime. At the family home, there is also a very friendly dog, so no allergies or fears of dogs will be required.

The client does like to travel and you will be expected to drive his sprinter van when required as a part of this role. As a result, a full clean UK licence will be required.

The client enjoys a variety of activities from going to the cinema to listening to music by the likes of Tame Impala, The Courtneers and Foals. They are also big sports fans and will watch most sports on TV, however, they support Westham United for football and Liester Tigers for Rugby.

The client is a strong-minded individual who likes to be as independent as possible. He requires support with work and living independently. The client will require your help with everyday tasks such as clinical care, personal care, dressing, cooking food, cleaning and light physio.

This client does travel abroad for work from time to time, so a valid passport will be required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- A full and clean UK driving license (Essential)

- Valid Passport (Essential)

- Confident driver as you will be expected to drive the client’s van

- Excellent sense of humour and ability to not take life too seriously

- Physical fitness, patience, and a caring nature

- Strong communication and listening skills

- Mature and responsible attitude

- Fluent in English

- Clean and tidy appearance

Training and Development: Full training in the client's particular needs will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals without previous care experience. You will also have on-call support from our client coordinator team.
