Operations Officer – Part/time temporary

Are you ready to make a difference in the dynamic field of healthcare technologies? We're seeking an Operations Officer to join our team at the forefront of innovation. As an Operations Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the Healthcare Technologies Institute.

Position Overview:
As an Operations Officer, you'll work closely with our Operations Manager, Director, and staff/students within the Institute to ensure that operational support is professional, timely, and compliant with university and hospital policies. You'll be a key member of our team, providing administrative, secretarial, and operational support to facilitate the Institute's activities and business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day support for the operations of the Healthcare Technologies Institute.
  • Support and deputize for the Institute Operations Manager as appropriate.
  • Advise and guide colleagues on university policies, processes, and systems.
  • Maintain and promote efficient processes for data management and reporting.
  • Prepare communications, briefing documents, and background materials for senior meetings and high-level visits.
  • Assist in the planning and organization of events, projects, and visiting delegations.
  • Forge relationships with colleagues across the Institute, School, College, and university to promote best practices and collaboration.
  • Support cross-School, -College, and -university projects and initiatives.
  • Assist with buildings, space, and recruitment matters as directed.
Requirements:
  • Degree level education or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Experience working in a large and complex organization is preferred.
  • Knowledge of research project administration and financial processes is desirable.
  • Understanding of STEM fields relevant to Healthcare Technologies is an advantage.

Pay rate: £16.76 per hour.

This role is a part-time position working 3-4 full days per week.

Start date for this position is 13th May 2024 and the role will be running until 7th June with the potential for extension depending on needs of the business.
