Operations Manager

Our customer is an established UK Defence Company specialising in the supply of C-EO/IED products to the British Army and armour and ballistics products to manufacturers and research institutions around the World.

Vacancy: Operations Manager
Full time position - 4 Days per week or 208 days/year

Location: Monmouth, Wales with the expectation within 12 months to move to a new facility in the Brecon Beacons (North of Merthyr).
During periods of intense work e.g. exhibitions; processing a huge EXPEN orders etc then the Operations Manager would be expected to work a complete week until the particular event is completed

Salary
£55-60K per Annum (depending on experience)
PAYE and Pension
After two years there will be an opportunity for additional benefits such as salary increase, dental cover or health insurance etc

Holiday
3 Weeks/15 days annual leave, plus all UK National Holidays

Operations Manager

  • Responsible for Project Management of Detection Capabilities
  • Armour/Ballistics Management (including liaison with Auction House selling our customer’s collection)
  • Freight Co-Ordination
  • Exhibitions.
  • Management of existing staff to achieve desired outcomes for the various Projects
  • Deputise for Manager when he is overseas as per stated priorities/guidelines/remit
  • Comprehensive experience in either C-IED or Infantry Military Skills/Munitions desirable in order that the Operations Manager can speak with either experience or confidence when framing how our customer’s capability/technology/product would best work for the Customers’ requirements.
  • Assist Design Bureau to develop own unique Intellectual Properties into final complete products.
  • Ideally: existing network and understanding of the Army/MOD or at minimum a demonstrable interest in developing detailed understanding within the MOD community relevant to this role
  • Attendance in offices, exhibitions, and customer visits (NOT HYBRID)
  • Travel in UK and overseas, exhibitions, conferences, symposiums, and other work-related matters



Travel
As part of role, attending exhibitions/symposiums/conferences/customer meetings both in the UK and overseas (where appropriate)

Minimum Requirements

  • British Veteran Soldier/Marine, ideally Infantry or Combat Engineer
  • Knowledge of Ballistics, Infantry Operations and C-IED desirable
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence and Passport
  • Physically capable of loading/unloading Pallets
  • Positive view on working with Israel, US, Canada and UK
