An opportunity has arisen for a Sewing Operations Manager to join a rapidly growing interior design company. The company makes hand-crafted, luxury soft furnishings including bedding, cushions and curtains.

As the Sewing Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • The autonomy to run the site, overseeing all aspects of day-to-day operations
  • Managing, training and developing a team of skilled people including seamstresses and administration
  • Maximising operational efficiency and identifying opportunities to improve productivity
  • Managing production schedules to meet strict deadlines
  • Ensuring quality standards for luxury products
  • Managing supplier relationships, optimising stock levels and ensuring best price procurement of materials
  • Monitoring the P&L and continually reviewing costs
  • Ensuring the workroom complies with health and safety regulations
To be a successful Sewing Operations Manager, the following skills and experiences are essential:
  • A background as a seamstress, seamster, sewer or similar role within a sewing workroom
  • Knowledge of individualised, made to measure or bespoke products
  • Experience of operations management with an understanding of budgets
  • Strong people management
  • Experience of continuous improvement methods and the ability to increase productivity
  • An eye for detail and an understanding of the quality levels required for luxury, premium products

In return, you will receive a salary of £40,000-£45,000 per annum. The role is site based but the organisation supports flexible hours.
