My client is one of the countries largest privately owned freight forwarders who have recently setup an expanded operation in Derby. The business has ambitious grow plans to rapidly expand into new markets over the coming decade, with large scale investment from a private entrepreneur. The business turnover is in exceed of £80m+ group-wide with the new Nottingham branch accounting for 31% YoY growth!

Description

As an Ocean Freight Forwarder you will report into the Import & Export Operations Manager and commute daily to Derby. You will also have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Preparing sea, ocean & air freight price quotations - informing about the freight prices, port charges, cost of special documents, insurance prices as well as prices for handling the goods.
• End-to-end quotation, booking and customs of pricing and shipment to ensure customers and agents recieve the best possible rate.
• Handling order traces, processing pre-alerts and invoicing of all on-board cargo.
• Organising ocean freight transport solution through third party transit means such as agencies and shipping lines.
• Working within a variety of INCOTerms such as EXWorks, DAP, DPP etc.
• Handling customs entries and arranging billings for VAT/Duties using Destin8 and Sequoia.
• Ensuring full bills of laden, compliance and customs clearance.

Profile

The successful candidate will have an expansive background in the freight forwarding industry with a bias towards ocean freight. The ideally Ocean Freight Forwarder will have the following skills and experience:

• 2+ year's experience in freight forwarding in sea and/or ocean freight
• Experience of pricing, quotating and planning customer deliveries sea freight (import & export).
• Desirable experience of customs (e.g. Destin8, CNS, CDS etc).
• Excellent customer service experience
• Knowledge of INCOTerms.
• Commutable to Derby.
