Posted 9 January by NHS Dumfries and Galloway Featured Ended
VACANCY REF No: 1022.17

VACANCY (Post Title): Occupational Therapist

GRADE: Band 5

SALARY: £22,440 to £29,034

HOURS: 37.5hpw

Permanent

We require an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with an interest in working in a physical setting to join our team.

The post will be based in the new Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. The rotational programme enables the post holders to develop skills and gain experience across a range of acute hospital specialities including:

• Medical / Surgical – including Emergency Department and Admissions Unit

• Orthopaedics

• Rehabilitation – either within Dumfries Infirmary or at a designated Rehab Hospital

• Medicine for the Elderly.

Rotational staff will be required to complete a rotation within one of the local cottage hospitals delivering rehabilitation services which provides the opportunity to develop skills in providing ongoing rehabilitation for patients either as in patients, day patients, out patients or within their own homes.

As the Occupational Therapy Service is fully integrated across primary and secondary care it is essential that our staff are flexible and can work across a range of clinical areas. Band 5 staff will be required to work and gain experience across both settings and therefore need to be prepared to travel if required. Travel time and travelling expenses will be given to support this.

The service currently provides a 7 day service and the postholder will be expected to work at weekends as part of an agreed rota.

Supervision and personal development systems are well established within the service. Continuous professional development is actively encouraged and staff at all levels are encouraged to be involved in ongoing service improvements.

Informal enquires to: Morag MacDonald, Team Leader Rehabilitation on.

Closing Date: Thursday 18th January 2018 (midnight)
