My Client is looking to recruit a qualified OH Nurse/Advisor to join their Occupational Health team in Essex. This role involves providing professional health surveillance, conducting safety critical medicals, screening, DSE Assessments, and promoting health and wellbeing services. This position requires a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of occupational health practice.

Job Purpose:

  • Conduct health surveillance and screening programs in line with HSE requirements and Medical Standards, including pre-employment medicals, drivers medicals, drug and alcohol testing, spirometry, audiometry, HAVs tier 1-2, skin surveillance, and safety critical assessments.
  • Undertake pre-employment health assessments and periodic safety critical medicals.
  • Perform DSE desk assessments as requested or needed.
  • Communicate assessment results, such as fitness to work, to HR following policy and procedures.
  • Coordinate follow-up appointments with the Medical Secretary for OHA/OHP consultations as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with the OHA/OHP to plan appropriate follow-up actions for any findings outside of normal parameters.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining the computerised occupational health recording system, including recording clinical outcomes and test results.
  • Ensure the safe use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Comply with NMC registration requirements and work within the scope of NMC Professional Practice and Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain medical confidentiality and adhere to GDPR regulations.
  • Participate in audits and perform any other reasonable duties aligned with your role and experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Registered General Nurse (NMC Registered).
  • Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience.
  • Experience as an OH Nurse in an internal OH department or OH agency provider is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in an operational or safety critical environment is beneficial.
  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and compliance skills.
  • Pragmatic, solution-focused, with strong customer service and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, adaptable to various situations.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer literacy, proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and medical systems.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence.
