Prospero Teaching are holding a PGCE Graduate Programme, available to all PGCE students who are due to qualify as a NQT this year.

As you approach the final stretch of your PGCE course, you will no doubt be thinking about securing your first teaching position for September. This can be a daunting time for any Newly Qualified Teacher - alongside perfecting your CV and interview technique, you will also need to narrow your search to find a school who can offer a supportive environment.

At this stage in your career it's crucial to find a setting where you will be nurtured and encouraged to build your skills, knowledge and confidence.

Prospero Teaching's PGCE Graduate Programme has been created to give primary PGCE students experience within a variety of schools through paid work over the Summer term. It gives PGCE graduates the opportunity to receive more in-class experience in a choice of Foundation or KS2 stages. Feedback from previous years candidates has been that the experience was invaluable and hugely beneficial; allowing them to gain an insight into how different schools work. Also to gain experience in a wide range of settings, year groups, locations, socio-economic groups and different faith schools.

This paid work is completely flexible to fit in around your studies, and we will find you as much or as little supply work as required over the Summer term. Before starting work, you will meet with one of our experienced consultants who will gain an understanding of your career plans in order to match you to the right schools. At this stage we can also offer invaluable advice on CV writing, interview techniques and successful trial days.

The Graduate Scheme will enable you to gain invaluable experience to add to your CV and discuss during interviews, giving you a head start on your fellow students. This is also your opportunity to shine in different schools and sometimes even find out about new roles before they have been advertised!

Successful PGCE graduates will need a valid DBS and be registered to the Education Workforce Council in order to work in schools around Swansea. Prospero Teaching can assist you with all of these security checks in order for a easy and secure registration.
