Job Title: Night Transport Planner

Shifts: Monday to Friday 11pm to 6am

Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our clients team as a Night Transport Planner. As a Night Transport Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of transportation operations during the night shift. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong organisational skills and the ability to optimise routes and schedules for efficient overnight deliveries.

Responsibilities:

• Overnight Route Planning:
• Develop and optimise transportation routes for overnight deliveries to meet customer expectations.
• Utilise routing software and real-time tracking systems to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
• Assess transportation capacity and plan resource utilisation for the night shift.
• Collaborate with carriers and logistics partners to secure and optimise transportation resources.
• Monitor transportation activities during the night shift to ensure adherence to schedules and address any unforeseen challenges promptly.
• Implement contingency plans in the event of delays or disruptions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact during the night shift for drivers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Collaborate with other departments, including warehouse and customer service, to coordinate overnight transportation activities.
• Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to overnight transportation operations.
• Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Ensure that all transportation activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with the safety team to implement and reinforce night shift safety protocols.
• Address and resolve transportation-related issues, such as route changes, delays, and emergencies, during the night shift.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in transportation planning, especially during night shifts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and real-time tracking technologies.
• Knowledge of night shift safety protocols and compliance standards.
