SEN Teaching Assistant required for a secondary school in North London

Are you passionate about education and eager to make a positive impact on young minds? We're looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a "Good" school in Haringey, North London, to start in September. This is a full-time, long-term position, providing you with an excellent opportunity to contribute to the academic development of students throughout the academic year, 2024/25.

The salary available for this role is £90 per day.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with special needs in an educational or childcare setting.
  • An up-to-date Enhanced DBS check on the update service (can be obtained through Tradewind)
  • A genuine passion for supporting student's learning and personal development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic educational environment.
  • A desire to explore a rewarding career in education, making a difference in the lives of young learners.
  • Graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be working with students with a range of special needs, so will need to flexible and adaptable.
  • Work closely with teachers to provide classroom support and one-on-one assistance to students both in class and some 1:1 and small group work.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students with their classwork, reinforcing learning and offering guidance when needed.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and resources.
  • Provide support for students with additional needs, ensuring they can fully participate in class activities.
  • Act as a positive role model for students, encouraging their personal and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team, parents, and other professionals to support the overall development of students.
  • Maintain a safe and organised learning environment.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
