The role

The role will be accountable for the data, technology and operational and regulatory requirements of the Neuron team globally and the strategic direction of data.  This includes the following areas:

•           Regulation: In collaboration with risk and legal provide business strategy to support the regulatory stand up and separation of Neuron in geographies (initially UK and US).

•           Governance - establishing and operating the governance capabilities in line with legal and regulatory framework 

•           Data: accountable establishing the data capabilities across Neuron e.g. algorithmic trading, data standards, data strategy, new and emerging technologies 

•           Technology: accountable for the platform, dev/dev ops capabilities underpinning Neuron and engineering teams.

•           Client Operations: onboarding and management (brokers and insurers) across geographies starting with the UK and US, invoicing, billing etc. 

•           Service Management: implementing a comprehensive and scalable support and service Management capability, safeguarding and streamlining the end-to-end delivery of Neuron services. 

•           Delivery: Creating a delivery and implementation Centre of Excellence ensuring high quality and standards, creating effective tensions within the Product and Engineering teams

•           Business Change: managing the business change activities to drive adoption of the Neuron e.g. broker. Internal comms, 

•           People: Accountable for the People Strategy and People Operations

•           Scalable Business Model: Establish Neuron India working with R&B – adopting similar structures to other initiatives across WTW

Operational responsibilities:

•           Accountable for the financial analytical capabilities underpinning Neuron,

•           Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key suppliers and partners 

•           Creating and deploying an effective Incident, Crisis Management and Response strategy

•           Challenging proposals and decisions, ensuring Neuron’s best interests are prioritised.

•           Management Reporting

•           Custodian of the excellence model – business, technology and operations

•           Client and supplier contracting

•           Audit

Requirements:
  • Experience of leading teams and businesses through strategic change both from a people, process and cultural perspective
  • Experience of applying creative thinking to strategy, problem solving, and decision making and inspiring this in others
  • Digital and Data Transformation, and understanding capabilities required at each phase of the transformation, focused on delivering lasting / sustainable change
  • Experience in working in a product led digital technology company
  • Regulatory / compliance experience 
  • Experience of previously leading a commercially focussed People function
  • Recruitment at an executive level within a start-up environment as well as recruiting diverse and inclusive teams at scale
  • Experience of increasing engagement through great communication and appropriate ways of working
  • The ability to flourish in a lean entrepreneurial set-up, fulfilling a broad hands-on role
  • Ability to thrive and deliver in a complex, highly matrixed, global environment
  • Ability to be both detail-oriented & consider ‘bigger’ picture, dependent on the situation, leading a multi-functional team and manage prioritization of deliverables
  • Clear and effective communicator at all levels and ability to challenge and influence at Board, exec and senior external stakeholder level
  • Comfortable with decision making in the face of uncertainty and effective in delegation


Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience of managing financial controls and budgets
  • Ability to management of 3^rd parties including selection, performance management and control
  • Experience/knowledge of financial services sector and specifically within the insurance industry
