ICT Networking Engineer - Kyocera

Main Objective

Our client is looking for a Networking Infrastructure engineer who will provide enterprising management of there customer networking and firewall platform estates, while managing and monitoring existing configurations and identifying risks and opportunities to better the robustness, security, and resilience.

Responsibilities/Tasks

• Be part of the Infrastructure team to strengthen and manage both their external and internal customer base, while adhering to ISO27001, ISO20001, Cyber Essentials plus standards and best practice methodology.
• Ability to identify new technologies and products where our client are currently vulnerable or exposed, with a focus on a security or network perspective.
• To supply an escalation route for any Infrastructure incidents where 1st, 2nd and 3rd line paths have been followed.
• Provide reporting and auditing for customers and internal I.T infrastructures, to underline concerns and plans for mitigation.
• To manage the organisation, change control and delivery of all networking infrastructure implementations and upgrades.
• To provide guidance and assistance to the ICT Services division while adhering to the internal IT strategy.
• To provide support with the expansion of our clients ICT Services (Business Solutions) throughout there own, regional and global headquarters business channels, allowing scalability of there platforms and services.
• To oversee both the customers and our clients own networking Infrastructure, allowing there systems and services to reside on the most reliable, secure, and resilient platforms while consolidating existing Infrastructures and lowering costs.
• To lead the training and mentorship of junior service desk team members.

Tasks that you may be expected to support:

• Supply network and system reporting for tracking purposes and management reviews.
• Provide assistance for internal and Delivery I.T projects with applicable technical documentation.
• Supply a technical escalation route for all Infrastructure incidents/concerns.
• To manage patch/firmware management timetable for all external and internal networking environments.
• To assist with all Business Continuity Planning needs.
• To research new products in new technology areas such as IoT and to create business cases where applicable for business adoption and approval.
• To assist emergency Business Continuity and/or Disaster Recovery actions if needed.
• To manage system and user Access permissions and rights through Change Request process.
• Guarantee all system updates and asset management records are up to date and correct.
• Enact research and supply official recommendations to enhance or clients internal infrastructure and Managed Service products and services to there external customers.
• To assist the Presales requests for Infrastructure led Managed Service requirements when needed.
• To recognise, develop and implement new Managed Services into our clients product portfolio.
• To Lead all alerting and monitoring functions to achieve external and internal customer SLA’s.
• Any other tasks as directed.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills

• High end technical knowledge of IT networks with at least 5+ years experience working as a Networking engineer
• High-level technical knowledge of multifunctional and printer products.
• Preferably 5+ years working with Fortinet products with associated certification.
• Strong technical knowledge of virtualisation products and IT systems.
• Excellent customer facing skills.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Skills to prioritise work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of Meraki and Cisco kit is ideal.
• Ability to suggest and guide technical/service information to different levels within the business.
• Awareness with and ability to lead network segmentation approaches to enable stable and robust network configurations.
