Network Engineer - Cisco, CheckPoint, Palo Alto

• Up to £52,000 + On-call/ Overtime + Discretionary bonus
• Coventry based - 2/3 days onsite

Our Client is a well known and established financial services organisation who are searching for a Network Engineer as they are lookong to expand their existing team.

They are a financial business however, they are genuinely passionate about technology and have some exciting projects on the in place, which is another reason for this hire. There are migration plans in place to move from CheckPoint to Palo Alto as well as implementing AWS into their Network Infrastructure which is due to kick off very soon.

They also value automation and DevOps practices, which they are keen to introduce more of into the team and environment - Ansible skills would be highly beneficial but not essential for this role.

There will be an element of BAU work as part of this role, so a background and understand in Operations will be needed, but due to project work the ability to work without hand-holding is essential.

There is an out of hours element, which is as and when needed, depending on the task. This could be once or twice a week. Which employees do get paid over time for. There is also an on-call rota which is approximately 1 week every 3 months, which will also count as over time pay

Learning & Development are valued very highly and as a business they are very keen on employee development and would be willing to fund any network qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Ability to work on projects independently
• Engineer level ability to configure networking kit
• BAU & Operations

Key Skills

• CISCO, Checkpoint Firewalls AND Palo Alto Firewalls configuration from scratch
• Cisco Routing Protocols experience with tools such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
• F5 Load Balancing - LTM, Reverse Proxy
• Understanding of Cisco ACI
• BGP, OSPF
• Ansible/Automation - nice to have
