Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician

The Company

MTrec are proudly representing one of the North East leading manufacturers. As they continue to grow our business, we are looking to recruit a qualified Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (mechanical and electronics) on our CNC machines and lathes. Responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance of our equipment, this permanent full-time position is to ensure that all manufacturing equipment is fully operational at all times

The Role

  • Responsible for the routine preventative maintenance of all of their CNC based equipment.
  • Responsible for reacting to and dealing with breakdowns in machinery on both the machining and assembly sides of the business
  • Plans and executes assigned modification, repair and/or maintenance projects with a high degree of complexity with respect to costs, quality, safety and environmental aspects
  • Analyses technical problems on site
  • Executes start of operation of production service and systems
  • Executes mechanical and/or electrical repairs and works orders
  • Maintains proper documentation
  • Contributes to installation projects on site
  • Supports maintenance of technical documentation of processes and equipment
  • Dismantles, repairs, assembles and installs mechanical/electrical components on site
  • Performs tests and verifies correct functioning
  • Sets up and commissions machines and devices
  • Supports accountable engineers and other technicians in their tasks, both in maintenance and production
  • Checks completeness of documents and components for the proper execution of mechanical and electrical tasks
  • Prepares mechanical and electrical tools and equipment for use

The Person

  • Must have a relevant qualification in a maintenance and/or engineering discipline
  • Experience in CNC fault-finding and repair.
  • Must have had industry experience working within an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Must have experience in a similar Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician role
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • A working knowledge of, or hands-on experience with, automotive production processes
  • Must be computer literate with a very good knowledge in the use of MS-Office packages
  • Must have very good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must have a full UK drivers licence (may be required to go and get spare parts)

We offer an excellent working environment in which you will be required to work the following hours (minimum 39 hours per week):-

Dayshift

4 shifts on 4 shifts off 08:00am to 18:15pm with a half hour unpaid lunchbreak

(8 day rotation)

Nightshift

Monday to Thursday 21:45pm to 08:00am with a half hour unpaid lunchbreak
