Role Purpose:
Working as part of the Site MHE instructor team in ensuring that that all training is completed and recorded in line with company policy. Deliver MHE training both basic and refresher to include PPT, CBT, RT, VNA, MEWP or other equipment that may be used together with FLT battery changing. The purpose of the role is to deliver training to MHE operators to ensure safe working practices and a continual reduction in MHE accident / incidents.

A typical day in this role includes:
Training delivery of all MHE staff to use the FMS system (Fleet Management System)
Completing/supporting site inductions of MHE/Manual Handling for all FTE/ Agency staff
Supporting the Risk Assessment (RA) / Safe systems of work (SSOW) completion with the nominated person/s
Providing a consistently high level of technical skills training to support the operations area through a variety of delivery methods.
Supporting onsite training buddies to deliver exceptional service.
Review training content and update as required, ensuring all training is in line with RTITB / IITSAR recommendations and deliver training to these standards.
Keeping updated on changes to the standards of RTITB and ITTSAR, to ensure our training is fit for purpose.
Strong understanding of health and safety and site regulations, acting as a safety ambassador within our DC by completing on a regular basis Behavioural Safety Audits.

All leadership capabilities are required to some extent in all roles but there will always be one or two that are critical for success. Identifying this is an important part of building a JD. One way to do this is consider how you would allocate 11 ‘points’ if:
Critical was 3, Core 2, and Useful 1.
All capabilities must have at least 1 point.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.

What you’ll need:      
FLT instructor skills are maintained in line with industry best practice.
Recognised valid accreditation for training to any of the following standards RTITB/ITSSAR.
Experienced training within a Distribution Centre.
Can successfully sign off candidates for training on Reach and Counterbalance Trucks as well as PPT.
