Our client is a leading chemical manufacturing organisation in its field with a sizable asset footprint internationally. A senior leadership opportunity has arisen to join the business at an exciting period to take overall responsibility for engineering strategic and operational direction within their Top Tier Comah manufacturing site in the North of England.
This exciting role will lead a team of site functional engineering and maintenance personnel in the provisional of a first class professional engineering service to the facility. The role holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of ambitious strategic engineering and reliability improvement programmes across the site, which are required to deliver company longer term objectives. As a member of the senior management team, the role holder will provide dynamic leadership of asset performance through a professional management team of functional experts in electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, reliability and maintenance, with high levels of health and safety focus at all times.
As the engineering budget holder this individual will be responsible for robust management and control processes to deliver the site fixed cost engineering budget. Leadership around continuous improvement activity is a key aspect of the role, ensuring that improvement is obtained around asset integrity and uptime without compromising on safety and operational performance. The post holder would also play a key role in supporting the delivery of the site capital expenditure plan, via technical support and programme integration with engineering priorities and asset life plans.
You should be a degree qualified individual in a relevant engineering discipline, with Chartership of an appropriate professional institution and ten years of industry experience including management experience on a Top Tier COMAH site at some stage in your career.
The ideal candidate will have gained experience in engineering and/or operational leadership roles, ideally including project, engineering and maintenance management in a complex, highly demanding manufacturing process environment.
Candidates should also be able to demonstrate a track record of driving site reliability transformation through operational performance improvement and cultural change.
