Our client based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their building services team as soon as possible.

This is a full time, permanent role based in Manchester overseeing projects in sectors such as health care, commercial, manufacturing and custodial.

The purpose of the role is to work within an existing mechanical design team and partake in developing solutions, defining problems, providing technical support internally and within a larger design team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare technical specifications, designs, model/ drawing production, equipment schedules and technical reports.
  • Undertake site surveys and inspections and production of technical reports.
  • Have an understanding of working across various RIBA stages and what works are to be carried out at each stage. I.e. be able to work from concept to completion.
  • Conducting reach and applying new ways of working and technologies.
  • Identifying and addressing problems and issues.
  • Undertake CDM risk assessments
  • Be able to work in a team and feels comfortable working with others.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience within an M&E design consultancy, as well as associated degree qualifications and either chartered or working towards chartered status.
  • A good working knowledge of design packages such as Revit, IES and AutoCAD.
