Job description
DC Personnel have a new and exciting permanent opportunity to work with our client in Leicester as their new Mechanical Design Engineer with multiple company benefits.

Salary : £38-£42k (DOE)
Hours : 08:15-17:00 Monday-Thursday & 08:15-13:00 Friday.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical, fluid dynamics and thermal analysis to verify and enhance designs using both manual calculation and multi-physics simulation finite element analysis software (Ansys)
Research and development including product testing work as agreed with the Engineering Manager.
Contribute, as part of a wider team, in the collating and submission of PPAP documentation and support the quality department in the APQP application.
Produce engineering drawings and supporting documentation
Adhere to the quality system for example using ECOs
Provide technical support to Production, Sales, Service and Customer Support.
Conduct technical investigations, develop and maintain appropriate design and support processes, carrying out root cause analysis and initiating corrective action as necessary.
Perform any additional duties as required

The successful candidate should have the following skills:

High level of skill with FEA/CFD analysis software.
Good knowledge of of 3D Autocad software
Strong knowledge of plastic material properties and the moulding processes associated with this.
Working knowledge of mechanical engineering practises
Ability to work to strict deadlines
Positive attitude towards all aspects of working life
Experience in creating and releasing BOM
Previous experience within the automotive industry is desirable
Knowledge of PPAP & APQP documentation is preferred
Degree qualified within Mechanical Engineering
