Role - Mechanical Design Engineer

Location - Northampton

Salary - £30,000-£40,000

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components, systems, and equipment. They will work closely with other engineers to ensure the successful execution of projects and the delivery of high-quality designs.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing design strategies for new products
  • Creating detailed engineering blueprints and specifications
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize designs
  • Conducting feasibility studies and cost analyses for projects
  • Performing various tests and simulations to ensure product reliability
  • Identifying and troubleshooting design issues
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Proven experience in mechanical design
  • Previous Machine Build experience
  • Special purpose machinery, sheet metal and fabrication experience 
  • Jigs, Fixtures and Tooling experience
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
