Permanent Maths Vacancy at a Pupil Referral Unit located in Burnley to start Immediately
Your new company
HAYS education are working in partnership with a pupil referral unit in the Burnley area to appoint a Maths teacher. The school caters for pupils aged 11-16 who have been excluded from mainstream settings. Pupils are taught in small groups, where they study the core curriculum and can receive the extra support they require. Students are then able to make good progress as staff can ensure that learning is tailored to individual student needs. In addition to the core curriculum, the school provide rich and varied curriculum opportunities ranging from vocational courses, academic programmes and programmes that support pupils' personal and social development.
Your new role
Your new role is a full time position operating initially on a temporary basis with a view to a permanent placement following a successful assignment. You will be responsible for teaching Maths to small groups of pupils to KS4. In your new position you will be supported by a senior leadership team who have a key emphasis on creating a positive learning environment for both teachers and pupils. You will be required to undertake all teaching duties including planning, delivery and assessment and will therefore receive a competitive rate of pay to accommodate this
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have experience teaching Maths to KS4 and must demonstrate adaptability and flexibility. You must hold QTS or have completed your PGCE in FE. Within this role you must posses strong behaviour management skills and be eager to continue and add to the high standards that the department have come to expect whilst adding adding value to each individual student ensuring that they reach their full potential whilst at the school. Experience of working within a similar setting is not essential but is advantageous.
