Ford & Stanley are looking for motivated, versatile, process driven individuals with strong IT skills, with immediate availability to start work, who are keen to pursue a position within supply chain and warehousing. Working with CAF Rail in their state-of-the-art Central Stores facility in Stockport, to ensure the timely delivery of various parts and equipment for train maintenance contracts within the UK Rail Industry.

The Opportunity

CAF are looking to grow their warehousing team with the addition of a Materials Controller who plays a pivotal role in ensuring parts are supplied to depots on time, preventing trains being out of service longer than is required.

We are looking for someone who can quickly pick up and learn new IT systems (this is a bespoke system, so will likely be new to anyone who joins), and is able to complete various manual handling tasks, which could include using forklift vehicles. (Training will be provided).

The Central Stores team are very process driven and as such, you will need to be able to follow a specific process list, but be warned, things can change very quickly so versatility and the ability to change tasks quickly is a must.

Location: Stockport.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Process all goods inwards and outwards both manual handling of goods and updating various systems.
  • Liaise with CAF customers and other CAF personnel with materials transactions, queries, stock inspections and audits as required.
  • Maintain material logs, system updates and documentation, providing quality and accurate information
  • Carry out deliveries and collections to other CAF Locations 
  • Participate in periodical stocktaking of materials & support the Stores and Logistics team with stock levels managing materials transactions, material planning and any other project activities 

 The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be keen to learn and develop their skills within a warehouse environment, with the drive and ambition to complete tasks to the very best standard. They must be IT literate and able to complete both computer based and hands on warehouse / stock control work.

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Experience of ERP or MRP systems.

Shift Pattern/ Hours

Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm.

Other information: A pre-employment Drugs & Alcohol test and Medical must be passed prior to start.
