Manchester City Council are seeking a dedicated MASH Clerical Officer to support the Health Team within the Manchester Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This role is vital for researching health information for adults referred to the MASH, involving the use of NHS health systems to provide timely and confidential information within safeguarding processes.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Gather relevant health information to support decision-making in the MASH.
  • Make telephone calls and electronic enquiries/data searches using various IT systems and healthcare databases.
  • Produce high-quality data for use in the MASH process of information sharing.
  • Coordinate the MASH Health Team’s activities in responding to enquiries, working to set timescales.
  • Carry out routine clerical duties to maintain the efficient running of the MASH Health Team.
  • Prioritise and organise workload to meet deadlines as identified by the MASH Health Practitioner or Lead.
  • Update statistical data sheets and answer telephone enquiries from partner agencies.
  • Work with colleagues and stakeholders to create plans that address individual needs and reduce vulnerability.
  • Input data on Liquid Logic IT system and ensure all relevant information systems are updated.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Good knowledge of IT and ideally health systems.
  • High level of concentration and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work closely with key agencies within a co-located MASH environment.
  • Efficient administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload independently.
  • Experience in handling confidential information with discretion.
