Management Accountant

An opportunity has arisen for an FP&A Accountant to join a family owned business based in Manchester City Centre. Established over 30 years ago, this retail wholesale business has gone from strength to strength in terms of growth and is now seeking to expand its finance team with an experienced Management Accountant.

This opportunity will play a crucial part within the finance function of the business, you will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts in addition to acting as an advisory to the wider business in relation to stock, margin, and cost analysis. This is an exciting opportunity to add value to a newly created role within a growing company.

Day to day duties will include;

• Preparation of month end, forecasting and budgeting and financial reports
• Balance sheet reconciliations and production of the review pack
• Producing analysis and commentary on results
• P&L and variance analysis and reviewing the VAT returns
• Stock reconciliation and analysis
• Cost and margin analysis and producing financial reports that drive profitability
• Costing and profit estimates on imported products

You will ideally have the following;

• Part or fully qualified Accountant with a background in the retail, distribution, or logistics sector
• You will be technically strong with excellent analytic skills, this role is suited to an individual who enjoys "getting into the detail"
• Ideally you will have import/export experience
• A solid understanding of accounting principles, statutory legislation, and regulations
