Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are exclusively partnering with a well-established SME organisation in the Worcestershire area as they look to appoint a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. With a strong reputation in the local area, our client specialises in the management and recycling of waste.

Your new role
Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for supporting the finance department with all aspects of management and transactional accounting tasks.

Main duties:

  • Preparation of management accounting information across multiple cost centres including accruals, prepayments, journals and stock valuations
  • Completion of bank reconciliations at month-end
  • Preparation of annual budget information
  • Liaison with operational management and company Shareholders
  • Presentation of financial information to both finance and non-finance personnel
  • Provision of information to external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory regulations
  • Ad hoc duties including procurement of utilities for multiple sites and support with insurance renewals

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Finalist nearing the end of your qualification
  • Experienced in management accounts preparation and variance analysis
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage own workload and work to strict deadlines
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills - curious about numbers and passionate about adding value
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to present information to senior stakeholders
  • Highly proficient with Excel (files, charts, tables etc.) and Sage 200 experience highly desirable
