Maintenance Surveyor, Cardiff, Social Housing, Asset Management Team, £16.96 per hour, start ASAP.
Your new company
Your new organisation is a Social Housing provider in central Cardiff who have an opening for a Maintenance Surveyor to join their team. The team has 96 employees over two offices and a portfolio of over 3,000 homes and tenants in the local area. You will be joining the Asset Management team who manage the reactive and planned maintenance on all of the properties. The team have a friendly, family feel to their organisation and an open plan office space, they have regular social and team building events.
Your new role
You new role will involve undertaking pre-inspections in properties to determine scope of works required regarding maintenance of fire alarms, legionella, smoke detectors, H&S, compliance and where work is taking or has taken place to ensure quality standards are maintained including cleanliness and quality of work. You will be required to liaise with tenants, adjacent occupiers and contractor and the maintenance team/admin support team to ensure servicing is being carried out and records are complete and up to date.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience in a social housing environment communicating face-to-face with tenants is essential, as well as the ability to communicate well with all other parties including colleagues in other department and contractors. Minimum qualification is GCSE with experience in a similar role, however qualifications in asbestos, legionella and fire safety would be seen as desirable. You will need to have strong communication skills, ability to multitask, an understanding of maintenance and experience in a similar role, report writing and invoicing skills. Full DBS check is required for the role.
