This is a perfect opportunity for a natural leader to help develop and motivate a team of Engineers. This is a very much more of an office based role, working closely with Engineering Team leaders, and the Engineering Planner to develop the Maintenance department, carrying out a number of projects. You will be a key member of the site Management team, and you will have a proven track record of Management and a keen eye for continuous improvement.

Role & Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, development and motivation to the engineering team daily
• Improving process, procedures, streamlining work, health & safety, quality, legal & compliance requirements (COSHH, HACCP)
• Work closely with the engineering planner to improve PPM plans
• KPi performance management
• Staff training, creating development plans, grievances, disciplinaries
• Provide technical maintenance expertise when needed
• Asset care management for the maintenance department

Required Skills & Experience

• Must be a strong man-manager / leader
• Ideally be working as a maintenance manager, or consider someone that wants to take a step-up in role - but must show strong leadership qualities
• Happy working and managing in a fast-paced environment, high pressure, regulated food industry
• Ideally trained as an electrical biased engineer - but open on mechanical too
• Worked on CI projects, process improvement, lean manufacturing implementation
• Managed Health & Safety, COSHH HACCP, legal requirements for engineering
• Effective and open communication skills, able to train, discipline when needed, listen and develop people
