£34,870 per annum + attractive benefits package
Our client is one of the UK's leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management companies and due to continued success and growth they are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join one of the UK's leading waste management companies in Skelmersdale working a varying shift pattern.
The Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) will be responsible for delivering the Planned Maintenance (PM) schedules as defined by the site maintenance plan, working to a high standard and in a cost effective manner. You will also be responsible for planning, organising and undertaking corrective and reactive work and be responsible for delivering improvement projects leading to increased plant reliability and cost reduction.
The suitable candidate…
*NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in maintenance engineering
*Good knowledge of maintenance of production machinery
*Knowledge of H&S protocols
*Knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment
*Good communication skills
*Ability to work on own initiative or part of a team
*Excellent diagnostic skills, numerate and literate with the ability to produce basic reports and management data as required
*KE1 - Awareness of Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and their impacts
*Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft office systems
*Knowledge of CMMS systems, purpose and functionality
*Knowledge of electrical systems and safety
*Understanding of safe systems of work. I.e. Plant isolations and safety systems
*Possession of HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
*Full driving licence
*The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all the Mechanical equipment at the Skelmersdale site, providing support to other disciplines as necessary using experience and skills. This will involve:
*Preventative and breakdown maintenance of plant and machinery
*Routine maintenance activities such as grinder blade changes
*Routine checks, maintenance and repair of utilities and services
*Planning & implementation of improvements as authorised by the Engineering Manager.
*Undertake other assignments given to you by the Engineering Manager / Engineering Supervisor from time to time
