Machine Tool Service Engineer - Halifax
Job Purpose (Statement explaining the job's overall purpose):
Respond to service calls providing on site repair, overhaul and servicing on customers machinery.
Assist with machinery installations and commissioning across a range of branded, Factored products, and wide range of machine including special purpose machinery and rebuilt and re-engineered machines.
Working Relationships - Works Manager, Operations Manager, Technical Director, Senior Engineers, Mechanical & Electrical Engineers, Buyer, Works Supervisor, subcontractors &other service team members.
Mainly UK and Northern region based.
Principal Accountabilities (Major end results the job is expected to achieve):
1 Timely response to customer service calls achieving high level of customer satisfaction.
2 Good working and diagnostics skills on Hydraulic systems.
3 Capable of diagnosing and repairing faults in mechanical assemblies.
4 Maintain records of customer visits and job cost.
5 Work in an clean, safe and efficient manner on customer sites and at service base.
6 Maintain and develop repair processes.
7Take a proactive role to increase productivity through the implementation of bestpractices.
8 Promote the business at all times9Understand site safety and work in a safe manner , prepare and utilise riskassessment and method statements.
10 Some electrical fault fining and working knowledge of CNC systems, PLC motorsand drives preferred.
11 Must be capable of working alone on customer sites or as part of team.
12 Liaise with works, spares, electrical and engineering departments to achieveefficient solutions to machine breakdowns.
13 Ability to read drawings / manuals to understand machine assemblies for strip downand repair Ability to follow PPM schedules and instructions.
14 Some overseas travel, mainly UK based.
15 Computer literate with ability to read cad drawings.
16 Potential for progression to manager level for suitable candidate.
Standard Profile(Knowledge andexperience, desiredbehaviours):
Capable of arranging own travel and scheduling work and travel efficiently.
Ability to plan own work and work with other team member as required.
Qualified in engineering discipline or apprentice trained ideally with ONC/HNC.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
ProactiveOn call element and weekend working required from time to time.
Sense of initiative.
Knowledge Machine tool assemblies, slides, ballscrews, spindle assemblies. Ability to prepare and maintain customer information records.
Ability to keep cost records for time and materials used.
Full Driving Licence.
Good Personal Presentation.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
