Reed Talent Solutions are working with a Worsley based energy company to recruit a temporary Logistics Operative. You will be working as part of a logistics team and assisting the Site Management team, working to site & contract specific SHESQ policies and procedures, you will deliver work efficiently and with precision within the agreed processes, procedures and set timescales providing brilliant quality customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.

Role details:

  • Location: Worsley, Little Hulton, Greater Manchester
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: 6 months temporary ongoing
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday 7am - 4pm
  • Rate: £25,699 to £27,841 per annum (dependant on experience)
  • Interview process: Short-listing call with Reed, 1 stage interview with Cadent Gas in person.

Job Purpose:

  • The warehouse operative will work in an effective and compliant operation across all responsible activities and ensure adherence to all legal, operational and SHE procedures

  • Comply with required H&S at all times reducing risks to colleagues, customers and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • You’ll be responsible for picking, receiving and managing materials within the supply chain
  • Carry out all work associated with Issue and receipt of materials, plant, tools, equipment and road traffic signs and barriers, via a warehouse management system
  • Organise own work in order to meet agreed timescales and deadlines with a continuous improvement mindset
  • First point of contact for customer queries and requests, identifying and satisfying internal and external customer needs
  • Can marshal loads for despatch and load vehicles safely and effectively
  • Control of process for non- stock & PPE items, undertaking verification of stock levels as and when required
  • Operate and use mobile plant, mechanical lifting and handling equipment and other equipment properly and safely - ensuring that they are correctly checked, maintained and stored
  • Ensure housekeeping and 5s is carried out at stores.
  • Assist and support the Site Management team where necessary
  • Site waste management
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting non-compliance / site checks to line management
  • Undertake routine updating of the warehouse management system
  • On request assist and participate in standby / call out arrangements and roving stores duties
  • Embrace and aim to add value and continuously improve both processes and the overall operation

Knowledge and Experience:

  • You must have good communicative skills both verbally and in written form, showing a good level of numeracy and verbal reasoning
  • Telehandler licence required
  • Driving Licence essential
  • An understanding of SHE’s policies relating to Logistics activities
  • 2 years experienced within a similar stores/warehouse environment (Desirable)
  • To be trained to NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in distribution and warehousing, with a desire to progress to NVQ level 3 (Desirable).
