Job Role: Logistics Coordinator

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 DOE

Hours: Monday - Friday - Days

Metalis are currently in partnership with a fabrication company, who due to continuous growth are looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the organising suitable transport to ensure the goods are Delivered In Full On Time (DIFOT) to the customer.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for attending a short informal meeting as required at the start of each day to ensure that the Production Manager and Operations Director are informed and up to date on the day's scheduled deliveries. You will also attend the daily production huddle meeting with all production staff.
  • Booking of suitable transport for goods that are to be dispatched, including cost control and pricing negotiation to get the best prices from transport companies
  • Consideration must be used regarding size, weight and special site or customer requirements including checking certification
  • Support other team members by updating the company ERP system when items have been delivered including printing off the delivery note, listing all items to be sent and any relevant details such as FSC calculations.
  • To produce a daily delivery schedule detailing deliveries with the relevant couriers, destinations and times
  • Book in expected deliveries with the relevant customers
  • Support with loading pallets on to the lorries when the van arrive
  • Ensure jobs are complete by checking that all packing sheets have been signed by the relevant person, and ensuring that all dispatch sheets are signed once the vehicle has been loaded
  • Making sure all goods are stacked and packaged suitably ready for dispatch and to the customers' requirements.
  • Notify the Project Manager / Account Manager of any missing or damaged items that will not be dispatched, ahead of the vehicle leaving
  • Reporting of any missing or damaged items to the Production Manager / Follow T Card process
  • Key contact for orders in production and oversee that hardware and metalwork is packed as per the picking sheets
  • Action Site Requisitions as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Ability to work independently with the ability to work within deadlines and under pressure
  • Interpersonal and team-working skills
  • To respond effectively to any additional reasonable request of management
  • To uphold and promote the Company Values at all times
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
  • Good IT skills ability to use and understand ERP systems
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to multitask.
  • Personable, presentable and articulate
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to react in a calm and efficient manner in a changing environment.
