Your new role
Based in a public sector body just outside Oxford, you will play an integral part of the Employment team providing a comprehensive range of legal advice and representation. This will involve dealing with contentious and non-contentious matters across the full spectrum of Employment law including Employment Tribunal Claims, disciplinary cases, conflict resolution and grievance casework, re-organisation and redundancy issues, employment contracts, discrimination matters, Health and Safety and Working Time, medical retirement and pension issues.
You will be expected to conduct your own advocacy where appropriate and instruct Counsel as necessary in Employment Tribunals and High Court proceedings.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will have 3 years PQE and in-depth Employment law knowledge with practical experience in a range of matters including application of discrimination legislation.
You will have strong case management skills, experience of advising on and concluding negotiations to resolve cases by way of settlement agreements.
The ability to prepare and present contextual information (in oral and/or written form) including legislation and case law updates for other teams such as HR professionals and line managers, identifying the impact of changes for the organisation.
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills are necessary, with proven ability to operate as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Recent experience of working within the public sector; with knowledge of Employment and pension regulations is desirable as is the ability to handle a complex case load.

The locum role is expected to last for a period of 6 months paying from £35 per hour to £44 per hour.
