SPR are proud to be working with a public sector client to recruit for a temporary Lifeguard based in Wolverhampton on an AD-HOC basis.

The role of Lifeguard includes ensuring the safety of all users in and around the pool area by meeting training and qualification requirements and adhering to lifeguard standards. To always maintain the facility to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.

Working Instructions:
Hours: AD-HOC
Pay Rate: £11.59 per hour
Location: Wolverhampton

Essential Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS – (Adult’s and Children’s) – Update Service
  • NPLQ
  • First Aid at Work Certificate
  • Mandatory Health and Safety training

Main Responsibilities of the Lifeguard:
  • The post holder will provide lifeguard cover (pool sites), ensuring safe use of the pool, assisting pool users in difficulty, and administering life saving techniques where necessary.
  • To maintain a vigilant watch of the swimming pool areas in accordance with the operating procedures and take necessary action to ensure the safety of all users and staff.
  • Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards, ensuring all adhere to the pool rules and regulations.
  • To provide an emergency capability and administer first aid treatment as and when required.
  • Attend regular lifeguard training sessions to ensure ongoing personal development and compliance of the requirements of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
  • To ensure and effect the highest standards of cleanliness, housekeeping, hygiene, safety, basic maintenance, and security at all times of the pool hall, changing areas and other facilities in accordance with the Operations Manual.
  • Perform inspection of the pool safety equipment in accordance with the operating procedures.
  • To interact with the public responsibly and welcome all users of the facilities, promoting a positive image and delivering excellent customer service.
  • To supervise the control of children’s activities including parties and holiday activities.
  • To ensure the safe and effective use of equipment, offer advice and assistance where necessary.
  • To be responsible for the pre-opening building and equipment checks for certain areas of the facility, as specified in the Operations Manual.
  • To undertake specific duties as directed by supervising staff to ensure that the highest quality service is always available to all customers.
  • Any other duties commensurate to the post.
