Legal Manager - Manchester - Solar & BESS

An international player in renewable energy are looking for someone to find someone to head up their UK legal function for the UK.

They've had an amazing last couple of years and rapid growth they now have operations in 10 different companies and plans to double the headcount within the next 2 years.

They are a utility-scale wind and solar business, with over 7GW of projects in development. Their strategy has been a mix of company acquisitions and organic growth, and you'll be a key part of ensuring that continues.

Your role will be fairly generalist, a split between M&A/Transactions and Corporate Functions, and you'll be working very closely with the two Legal Directors, in Portugal and Germany, in order to lead the UK legal function and bring these activities in-house.

This will result in progression for you and the growth of the team, moving towards a General Counsel role in the UK.

What would your role look like?:
-Must have a law degree.
-3+ years of previous experience inside a multinational company and/or a law firm.
-Significant experience in dealing with projects documentation with a strong sense of bankability.
-Significant experience in contract review and negotiation.
-Strong ability to manage outside counsel/law firms.
-Team player and hard-worker, can-do attitude, with a good business judgement in providing compliant and business friendly legal solutions attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, manage multiple projects are of the essence.
-Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and possess analytical skills necessary for competent legal interpretation.
-Experience in the PV industry a plus but not a must have.
