Your new company
A global organisation with a solid track record for growth and plans to continue over the next two years, is looking to appoint an in-house commercial lawyer to focus on commercial contracts advice, drafting and negotiating in a business-facing role.

Your new role
This will initially be a fixed-term contract for 9-12 months with the potential to transfer to a permanent role. You will be a key contact for legal matters, finding commercial solutions and having a results-orientated approach. You will join a growing legal team to support the business on a range of legal matters including drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts; making commercial decisions; general contract management; GDPR & data protection, general legal queries and managing the relationship with external lawyers where necessary. You will have the flexibility of working from home with occasional travel to the Manchester office.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a solid foundation in commercial contracts with experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements. You will have completed your training with a well-regarded law firm or in-house legal department and have excellent relationship-building skills in order to work effectively across the business and influence decision making at all levels. Any experience with technology contracts would be an advantage. This would suit a commercial lawyer with 3-8 years' PQE who is results driven and enjoys working as part of a friendly and supportive team.

What you'll get in return
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who is available to take on a maternity cover role and is ideally looking for a longer-term role. Those seeking a 4 or 5 day working week will be equally of interest, which could suit more senior lawyers. You will join a hardworking team in a rewarding environment and you could be offered a permanent position at the end of the initial contract period with the opportunity to progress and develop your career as you get to understand the business and move into a more senior position. You will be offered a competitive salary of c£60k dependent on experience, plus a supportive and flexible working environment with prorated benefits and ongoing training and development as needed.
