Teaching Assistant - Ashford

Long-term, full-time role available at a Special Needs School in the Ashford area. The hours would be 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and the candidate MUST drive and have their own vehicle.

As a Teaching Assistant at Tradewind Recruitment, you'll play a crucial role in supporting pupils with ASD in their educational journey. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing one-on-one assistance, facilitating group activities, and creating a nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing individualised support to pupils with ASD, helping them achieve their academic and social goals.
  • Assisting classroom teachers in implementing tailored learning strategies and behaviour management techniques.
  • Collaborating with school staff and parents to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development.
  • Utilising your driving skills to reach different schools within the wider Ashford area, ensuring consistent support across various settings.

  • Full interview preparation by myself prior to interviewing at the school - we would go through our own in-house preparation materials as well as the school role, values, and anything else that would be useful and of course answser any questions you might have!

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working with children with ASD.
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not essential
  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Hold a DBS or be willing to get a new one (this costs £46 and we will pay you BACK the cost after 20 days of work)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive and adaptable attitude, with the ability to work effectively in diverse educational settings.
