35 Hour working week

Looking for a role where you’ll get to do more than maintain the status quo, and join a business that is actively investing in its Learning & Development offering? We’ve got you covered.

Reporting to the recently appointed Head of L&D, you’ll join a small, but growing L&D function. With new leadership in place, there is a renewed recognition of the value and importance that L&D has in driving performance, engagement and retention and, therefore, this business is adding several new roles into their learning function – this is one of them.

While not a total greenfield site, there is a huge amount of value to be added and some clear opportunities for the L&D function to make some quick wins and begin making an impact. Given the functions lack of growth until recent times, there are training programme gaps across the business and, as such, will require the postholder to design and develop new training content and contribute to new programmes. You will work with the wider team, including a digital specialist, to write, design and rollout new learning initiatives across the corporate business areas.

You will, of course, also deliver training sessions – this will require travel primarily to Luton or Birmingham but could be to a number of other venues.

Aside from the core remit of the role to design and deliver, you will ensure apprenticeships are effectively managed and will seek to foster a culture of learning, high service and high performance.

Who are we looking for?

You’ll be a competent trainer looking to move into a business where you can play an integral in the development of new training initiatives, or you could be a learning advisor with experience delivering in areas such as inductions and systems looking to progress and build upon your experience in the soft skills arena. You’ll need to be comfortable with the hybrid working pattern and the fluctuating nature of delivery schedules – you will typically be on site 2 or 3 days a week, with the rest working from home.
