As Learning and Capability Apprentice within UKHSA, you will report to the Learning and Capability Lead. In this exciting role, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for the function, handling a diverse set of project-related and administrative tasks to support the team across all workstreams.

The postholder will also complete the Level 3 Learning and Development Practitioner Apprenticeship and will be given opportunity to meet all learning objectives with exposure to relevant work and be given a 20% off the job training time allocation. This provides a fantastic opportunity to start a career in Learning and Development.

Eligibility Criteria:

To meet the requirements to be eligible for this apprenticeship you must meet the following requirements.

  • Have been a resident in the UK/EA/EEA continuously for 3-years before starting the apprenticeship.
  • Not have an existing qualification that is the same or higher than a level 3 or equivalent
  • Not be in receipt of funding for other learning programmes (including another apprenticeship)

For those who live and work in a Devolved Administrations (DA) (Scotland, Wales Northern Ireland), Education Skills and Funding Agency (ESFA) funding rules state to be eligible for funding of an English Standard funded via the UKHSA levy, you need to spend a minimum of 50% of your working time in England. There are different funding rules for DA’s, and it will depend if the same programme is available in the DA.

Location:

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) operates a hybrid working model where business needs allow. This provides us with greater flexibility about how and where we work, to get the best from our workforce. As a hybrid worker, you will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of your contractual working hours (approximately 3 days a week pro rata, (averaged over a month) working at one of UKHSA's locations (Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, and London). Specialist or regional roles will be based at the appropriate UKHSA site. For certain roles, some additional flexibility may be possible, which will be agreed upon with the hiring manager based on individual requirements and business needs.

Working Pattern: Full Time, Flexible Working and Hybrid Working.

Responsibilities section:

The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:

  • Assist in the development and delivery of projects across the People Development portfolio
  • Input to the development of high-quality materials and resources to enable effective delivery of team priorities
  • Seek structured feedback from users of products and services and use this to guide future delivery
  • Support the wider team to use pragmatic but robust evaluation mechanisms to ensure products and services meet the needs of the organisation
  • Assist with and maintain appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling.
  • Assist in maintaining project controls, monitoring and in producing project reports.
  • Understand the role of data to analyse learning needs and ensure effective delivery
  • Using internal information systems to support learning
  • Using digital platforms / delivery channels as relevant
  • Consult with stakeholders to draw out relevant information and provide feedback to inform learning and training needs requirements.
